OIP Special programs, LEAP website development interns

Duties: OIPfs Special Programs and Training unit develops and manages training summer abroad programs. The purpose of this internship will be to design and develop a new LEAP program website. Web development skills are encouraged but not required.

 

OIP Special programs, Outbound programs intern

Supervisor: Janelle Rasmussen, extension 7602

Intern: YADA, Masako

Duties: This position will work primarily on promotion for various short-term faculty-led study abroad programs. The intern will be involved in finishing a handbook for faculty who lead summer study programs, and managing and coordinating the promotional campaign for the outgoing special summer programs. This requires: updating the promotional campaign for the current year, designing promotional materials (flyers, posters, radio announcements, newspaper articles and ads), disseminating information on campus and to various media sources. The intern will also work with faculty members to organize various aspects of outgoing programs (hotel accommodations, air plane tickets, special events, ground transportation, etc.) They will also organize information session to publicize the programs to students and the community. Intern will also be involved in designing new promotional and informational materials for the special programs division.

 

OIP Special programs, Inbound program outreach intern

Intern: HAMADA, Norito

Duties: The primary internship project will be to aid in researching prospective international training program clients and preparing marketing materials for them. Web research skills and translation of materials will be required. Duties will include general administrative and clerical tasks. The intern will also assist, as needed, with incoming summer training programs. This summer, OIPfs special programs unit will host two training groups?a group of 25 secondary school teachers from Georgia, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, and the Ukraine; and a group of 21 undergraduate students from the Middle East.

 

Provostfs office, Office assistant

Supervisor: Greg Young, extension 6057

Intern: KAWAMURA, Tomoko

Duties: MSUfs provostfs office is responsible for the management and operations of the university undergraduate curriculum. This intern will job shadow Greg Young, MSUfs vice provost for undergraduate education, who is responsible for recruiting, retention, and marketing at the university. One special project will be to research private foundations for information about enhancing the educational experience of undergraduates. Other projects may be assigned over the course of the internship. The position represents an excellent opportunity for the intern to learn about the administrative organization and practices of the university.

Intern: NAGASAKA, Kozue

Duties: MSUfs provostfs office is responsible for the management and operations of the university undergraduate curriculum. This intern will assist Jeff Adams, MSUfs assistant vice provost for undergraduate education, with a project to research web survey software. Other duties will be assigned following the completion of the web survey project. The position represents an excellent opportunity for the intern to learn about the administrative organization and practices of the university.

   
ACE language institute, Office Assistant

Duties: A.C.E. is the universityfs ESL contractor. Responsibilities of this position include: answer phone; receive visitors; set up new student files; create orientation packets; manage the office bulletin board; prepare student newsletter; assist with new student testing and orientation; help manage conversation partner program; filing; organize grade reports.

   
Honors Program, Office Assistant

Supervisor: Clara Sprague, extension 4110

Intern: KANBARA, Kiyomi

Duties: Honors administers a program of advanced level classes for undergraduate students who are interested in a more challenging curriculum. The intern will assist with general clerical and office administration for the Honors Program. Duties will include: answering phones, making photocopies, typing, filing, data entry, and assisting as needed.

   
Montana Center for International Visitors

Supervisor: Doris Armstrong, Executive Director, extension 4887

Intern: YOSHIDA, Sanae

Duties: Montana Center for International Visitors (MCIV) is a non-profit community organization that facilitates the U.S. State Department's International Visitor Leadership Program, hosting international leaders in various fields of work, rather than just general "visitors." Visitors are sent to the U.S. for approximately three weeks to meet their professional counterparts in various states. MCIV sets up meetings for those visitors sent to Montana. Internship duties will include:

  1. update resource directory to facilitate visitor programming
  2. update MCIV membership files
  3. modify new membership database
  4. prepare marketing packets
