MSU Achievement Awards are based on ACT composite scores and/or total SAT scores (Math, Critical Reading and Writing). MSU will always take the highest test score, whether it be ACT or SAT, that is sent from the official testing company.

All MSU Achievement Awards are designated for tuition only. New freshmen may renew their Achievement Award for up to four academic years (8 semesters) by maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater and a non-resident status with continuous enrollment as a full time student.

International Programs Undergraduate Scholarships

All international undergraduate applicants are automatically considered for new student scholarships valued at $5,000*. The award is determined based upon review of a complete application packet and academic grades and achievements. Documents required in the international undergraduate application determine eligibility, and no separate scholarship application is required.

Scholarships are available until all are awarded; therefore, students are encouraged to submit their MSU application early.

These scholarships are available to students during their first year of study at MSU and are renewable on a competitive basis, depending on availability of funds. To renew, the student must maintain a 3.0/4.0 grade point average (GPA), demonstrate involvement and contributions to the campus or the community, and apply by the stated deadline each semester.

*This amount may change if the student is awarded other scholarships from MSU that add up to more than $7,000.

Cultural Sharing Scholarship

The Cultural Sharing Scholarship aims to increase cultural sharing and intercultural interaction both on Montana State University's campus and in the greater Bozeman community. Students are required to demonstrate leadership by planning and hosting two cultural events and attending World Chat sessions during the semester.
