Working in the U.S.

Working in the United States in regulated by federal law. Foreign students are not allowed to work off-campus during the time of their study. Employment on-campus is allowed without permission from the U.S. immmigration service, however, it is limited to 20-hours per week during the academic year. It can be full-time (40 hours / week) during the breaks and summer vacation.

Jobs on campus are open each semester in various offices: residence halls, dining halls, library, labs. Wages vary on campus between US$7.5 and US$10.00 / hour. MSU Career Services and Student Employment offers a listing of job openings on campus.
