Academic Program
The University is recognized as one of the leading academic institutions in Germany and Europe for Business Administration, Economics and Social Sciences. This is reflected by a large number of accreditations, evaluations, rankings and other distinctions. All the other departments within the University - Law, the Humanities, Computer Science - are woven into these disciplines in a unique way which has broken new ground in Germany. Internationally the School of Business Administration was the first in Germany to earn accreditation from the AACSB (The International Association for Management Education, USA).

Courses are available in German with some offered in English. Language courses are also offered to exchange students.

Eligibility
To be eligible for a College of Business exchange, you must be formally admitted to the COB by the time you depart on the exchange, and must satisfy the criteria listed in the application (available in Reid 339). Academic Credit
Credit will be awarded at MSU for all courses taken and passed at the University of Mannheim. The student's academic advisor at MSU and the MSU Registrar, in consultation with the Office of International Programs, will determine how these credits will apply to degree course requirements. Successful study at the University of Mannheim satisfies MSU's Multicultural/Global core curriculum requirement. Students are urged to work closely with these offices prior to departure to plan a course of studies which will maintain steady progress toward their degree.
Location
Mannheim is located on a low plain where the rivers Rhein and Neckar come together less than one hundred kilometers south of Frankfurt. It is surrounded by scenic foothill areas, such as the Odenwald and the Palatine (Pfalz), which are very popular with hikers, bicyclists and also among asparagus lovers! The scenic Black Forest, well loved by hikers and skiers, is about a 90-minute drive away, and even the Alps can be reached by car or rail in less than four hours. Also nearby is the traditional wine region of the French Alsace with quaint villages and wine festivals. The city of Mannheim is quite close to the French border, and Switzerland is only a few hours away.
Cost and Included Benefits
Students receiving exchange placements at the University of Mannheim will pay tuition at MSU in the same amount as if studying in Bozeman. Each student is responsible for his/her room and board at the University of Mannheim, as well as trans-Atlantic travel expenses. Several scholarships are available for students planning to study abroad. Remember to plan for extra expenses such as internal travel and personal spending money as well as for unexpected changes in the exchange rate.
Financial Aid
Financial aid may be available for study abroad at the University of Mannheim. Additional costs for study at the University of Mannheim (e.g. travel to and from the study site) may be used in calculating student's financial aid package. Students are responsible to apply to the Office of Financial Aid and can download the necessary forms from their website at www.montana.edu/wwwfa/forms.html.

Deadline
Deadlines for application for COB exchange programs are October 1 for the spring semester and March 1 for the fall semester, although the COB uses a rolling admission process so you are strongly urged to start the process earlier.
