Fresh Fruit!

It has been a really great weekend. It has been really great the last couple of days. I feel like I am starting to understand Japanese much better. I am really excited to start to be able to talk with people more, right now it is fairly difficult to communicate beyond very basic¬†sentences. I am doing Taekwondo and Aikido, there isn’t anyone in these clubs who can speak english so that is helping my Japanese quite a bit.

On Friday we left with about 80 Japanese students to what they call English Weekend. It is basically just a fun time for the Japanese English majors to meet the exchange students and try to speak english, but there is probably more Japanese being spokane than English for the most part. Here is a picture of all the students who attended, I am in the far left corner you can’t miss me.

It was a really fun time, Saturday we played all kinds of fun games. It was English Weekend so they tried to have english games, but they weren’t really english games. For example we played “dodgeball” but it wasn’t anything close to the dodgeball that I know, not even close. It was really fun though.

Saturdaynight we went to an Onsen, It was my first time going. It was great. They have a place in the middle of the pool with electric current running through the water, it makes your muscles pulse it is like a massage it feels really good!

Sunday we went up in the mountains near Kumamoto City and were able to pick fruit of the trees and eat it, pears and oranges. It was very beautiful to see. I had a great time here are some pictures.

Everything is so green! I love it!

I am having a great time and making many friends. Everyone I have met is super friendly and helpful. I am very happy to be able to have this experience.
