NamJi, South Korea

Hey all! This is my first blog! Well I arrived in South Korea 2 days ago and went straight from the airport in Incheon (right by Seoul) on a bus with my close friend JooHe, to NamJi (way south and about 3 hrs from BuSan). JooHe’smother is like my aunt and I’m so glad that I get to stay withher. Yesterday was my first official day here and I can’t believe I forgot how humid it gets here. It’s the type of humidity that saps at your strength and all you wanna do is lay down in front of a powerful fan.

Luckily, some of my former students wanted to have lunch with me, so JooHe’s family & I went over to their place. The food is soooo delicious! I was stuffed and the last thing I wanted to do after eating such a delicious meal was sit in front of the TV. So I riled the kiddos up and we went outside and played soccer! … or at least that was the plan hahaStupid American here forgot about the evil strength sapping humidity. But no fear! We changed gears and got a huge water balloon fight on the way! It was so much fun and was the perfect activity for such a hot day ;)

School doesn’t start for me until the 24th of August. The only thing I’m worried about is my FAFSA money taking it’s sweet time to pay for my dorm room at YonSei University. I need it by July 25th and it’s not actually supposed to get here till the 19th of August. Help! I’ll just keep praying and hope that everything works out.

How’s everyone else doing? Anyone experiencing similar problems?
