Toowoomba is located 90 minutes west of Brisbane and approximately two hours west of the world famous Gold Coast. The city offers a unique urban-rural lifestyle in a secure and stimulating environment. The city is popular with international students because it offers one of the lowest costs of living in Australia and boasts excellent sporting, cultural, social and commercial facilities in a clean, unpolluted environment. Opportunities abound to explore Australia's bushland interior, coastal rainforests, go whale watching, wine-tasting and surfing. Toowoomba has a moderate climate.
The USQ Fraser Coast campus is located at Hervey Bay, a half-hour flight or three and a half hours drive north of Brisbane.
The Bay is a great location for international students, with a superb climate, calm waters, pristine beaches and relaxed lifestyle.
Bordered by 40 kilometres of beautiful, calm beaches, the Fraser Coast region has a population of approximately 95,000. Hervey Bay's population of 52,000 is increasing rapidly as people continually move to the region.
Just offshore lies the World Heritage-listed Fraser Island, which is the largest sand island in the world. A unique natural environment, Fraser Island has unspoiled beaches, rainforests and fresh water lakes -- all attractions for eco-tourists from around the globe.
Hervey Bay has become known as the whale-watching capital of the world. Humpback whales and their calves rest and play in the Bays sheltered waters between August and November.
Hervey Bay's esplanade is lined with a range of street cafés, fine dining restaurants and clubs. You can enjoy barbecues on the impressive foreshore or hire bicycles, jet skis and canoes, while swimming in the safe protected waters of the Bay.
