About Salamanca

What students say:

Letra Hispanica has been an exceptional educational experience.  I have enjoyed the classes, the faculty and my fellow students. Salamanca es maravillosa!  - JOE BARNETT, Verbo Participant

“[At Letra Hispanica] it is not just grammar.  It is communication with people you normally would not; experiencing a new culture.  It is poetry, songs, literature, and talking.  Above all it is fun.  Most days I really want to go to class.  Of course,  it is hard work, but I have learned so much.” – LAURA WALKER, Verbo Participant

Why Letra Hispanica?

Great community. Salamanca is a city rich with historic sites, cultural events, concerts, and theatre.  It is a safe, beautiful, friendly town to study in. Numerous activities are available including salsa and flamenco class, golf, horseback riding, gym facilities, climbing, martial arts, yoga, and soccer.  In Salamanca, you can spend your time sitting in a cafe, wandering through the old, narrow streets or along the river, visiting museums, playing a pick-up soccer game, or volunteering in the community.

Excellent classes and faculty. Classes are hands on, interactive, and taught by excellent faculty.  Students have personal contact with professors, writers, artists, and other students from Salamanca.  Community outreach and service work is integrated into the curriculum.

Great Location. Letra Hispánica is located near the University of Salamanca, in the well-known Calle Libreros, at the historical center, next to the famous Plaza Mayor.  Students enjoy living in a university city with many cafes and an exciting nightlife.
