MSU STUDENTS

Interested in studying abroad?
Please attend an information session at the International Opportunities Resource Center to learn more about the many study abroad options at MSU. Check out the Spring 2008 Information Session Schedule

As a Montana State University student, you can participate in both Semester/Year and/or Summer Programs. Through MSU you can study at over 235 universities in 50 countries around the world. Best of all, through most programs, studying abroad is no more expensive than studying in Montana. In some cases, your overseas expenses may be less than the cost of living in Bozeman, and your Financial Aid applies to all MSU sponsored programs.

Semester/Year Programs

The mosque on the campus at Al Akhawayn University in MoroccoMSU Semester/Year Programs provide students with the best opportunity for immersion in a foreign culture. Because it takes time to adapt to the differences in both living and learning in a foreign country, the longer a student can study abroad, the better it is both academically and for cultural understanding.

MSU students earn full academic credit for all work successfully completed in MSU sponsored programs. With careful planning, students can maintain regular progress toward their degrees by taking MSU equivalent classes at foreign universities. To find out more about programs available, contact the Study Abroad Advisor at 406-994-7151.

Programs in other MSU Departments. Some departments at MSU sponsor their own opportunities for foreign studies for their majors. Please contact the specific departments below for more information.

Summer Programs

Studying abroad in the summer is the perfect option for those students who want the experience of studying overseas but for academic, economic, or personal reasons are unable to go for a semester. Summer programs are intensive and focused and usually combine classroom work with field trips to various cultural and historical sights.
