Program Overview
As the oldest university in Korea, Yonsei University was established in 1885. Its spacious, quiet, well-wooded campus is located just 20 minutes away from downtown Seoul, the economic, political, and cultural center of Korea. Yonsei has 16 graduate schools, 18 colleges, and 111 subsidiary institutions. Yonsei is the leading institution of international education in Korea with over 420 partner universities in 42 countries around the world. Yonsei is regarded as the most forward looking, internationalized, and comprehensive university in Korea.Academic Program
Yonsei is particularly popular among international students who major in Business, Economics, Asian (Korean) Studies, Science, Engineering, and Political Science & Law (International Relations) as well as Architecture.The Department of Architectural Engineering strives to educate its students as architects and engineers who are capable of carrying out the various professional activities of creating an architectural environment. Yonsei's continuous technical and theoretical research has established the university as one of the leaders in the architectural field.
Design studios, environmental labs, structural engineering labs and photo rooms are available for students. Besides the laboratories, various research labs are operated to facilitate the research activities such as Architectural Design Lab, Architectural Environment Lab, Building Evaluation Lab, Architectural Structure Lab, Building Design and Technology Lab, Architectural History Lab, Urban Planning Lab construction, Engineering & management Lab and Building Science Lab.
Language of Instruction
Many courses are taught in English so students who do not speak fluently in Korean can take courses in English.Eligibility
The exchange program is open to all disciplines and majors. Students in the Architecture major who have completed one full academic year of university level work with at least a 3.0 GPA are also eligible.

Academic Credit
Credit will be awarded at MSU for all courses taken and passed at Yonsei University. The student's academic advisor at MSU, in consultation with the Office of International Programs will determine how these credits will apply to degree course requirements. However, successful study at Yonsei satisfies MSU's Multicultural/Global core curriculum requirement. Students are urged to work closely with their advisor and the Office of International Programs prior to departure to plan a course of studies which will maintain steady progress toward their degree.Location
Yonsei University has a 250-acre campus in the lovely wooded hills of western Seoul, 20 minutes from downtown by bus or subway. Seoul offers museums, palaces, libraries, theatres, and department stores. Yonsei University's location provides a particularly advantageous position from which to study the changing culture, economics, and politics of the East Asian region.

Cost and Included Benefits
Students who receive exchange placements at Yonsei University will pay tuition at MSU in the same amount as if studying in Bozeman. Students who are not awarded exchange placements will need to pay the "study abroad" fee to attend Yonsei. (Visit the International Opportunities Resource Center for more information about this fee). Students will be housed in double-occupancy rooms at the International House with a stipend for meals. Remember to plan for extra expenses such as internal travel and personal spending money as well as for unexpected changes in the exchange rate.Financial Aid
Financial aid may be available for study abroad at Yonsei University. Additional costs for study at Yonsei (e.g. travel to and from study site) may be used in calculating students' financial aid package.Application
