The 2013-14 Colloquium will break new ground. In order to accommodate a new overall LEAP schedule, this year's Colloquium will follow a new pattern.
The Colloquium will begin with a series of eight seminars in Bozeman following the traditional structure. The focus of these seminars will be on basic topics regarding:
- Higher education in the U.S.
- The cultural roots of American higher education
- The organization and structure of U.S. higher education
- Comparing the U.S. and Japanese higher education models
Each week during the colloquium, different guest speakers will meet with the LEAP participants to deliver a tow-hour presentation. The speakers are all experts in their fields. Colloquium schedule subject to change.
On the Monday before and the Friday after each colloquium presentation, the instructor teaches classes that preview and follow up on the presentations. This model ensures that the LEAP participants understand and learn as much as possible about each topic.
