During the first two weeks of the program, LEAP participants will stay with Bozeman families. Homestay matches will be made in advance of the LEAP group's arrival based on information provided by participants' in their homestay application.
OIP has a very active host family program, which includes many professional educators and individuals who have traveled in Asia and are interested in hosting adult professionals. Indeed, many families have hosted LEAP participants in the past, so are familiar with the program. Families provide breakfast and dinner while hosting, a private bedroom and bathroom, and transportation to and from the MSU campus.
Homestays are a wonderful way to welcome participants to the Bozeman community, and serve as a network of community members to socialize with during the program. A number of past LEAP participants have developed long-term relationships with their host families.
