Office 365 Email and Applications

Dear MSU Student,

The Information Technology Center (ITC) is pleased to be able to offer for free, Microsoft Office 365. This set of downloadable and online tools provides email and the Office Productivity Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) for use on both desktop and mobile computing devices.

Office 365 Benefits

  • Office 365 Productivity Suite (Office 365 ProPlus) can be downloaded on multiple devices (including Windows, Apple, iOS, and Android devices) and always has the latest applications, features, and services.
    • Once you download Office ProPlus, you will always have the latest version of Office software on your desktop or laptop. The current version available is Office 2016.
    • Office ProPlus can be downloaded on up to 5 devices. This includes Office for Mac.
      • Office 2016 programs: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, OneNote, Outlook, OneDrive for Business, Skype for Business, Access
      • Office for Mac 2016 programs: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, Skype for Business (Lync)
    • Visit http://www.montana.edu/office365/student to learn more about Office 365.
  • Keep your email in one place throughout your college experience. Your Office 365 account will stay active as long as you are a student.
  • To use your Office 365 email address as your official email address for university communications (e.g. class email, financial aid, etc.), go to MyInfo (www.montana.edu/myinfo) and check that it is the email address listed for you.
    • To do so, log into MyInfo, click on the Personal Information tab and select the Update Email Addresses link. If the address shown is not your first.last#@student.montana.edu click the here link to use your MSU provided (Office 365) address.

Google Application & Tools for Courses

If you are enrolled in a class that requires using a Google application, you can access it by logging into the Montana State Google Apps for Education environment. All students can access these tools by going to http://www.montana.edu/email and using the red login button on the right.
