NCSAM Week 4: Focus on Keeper
Welcome to the fourth week of National Cyber Security Awareness Month!
We are excited to announce the rollout of Keeper password manager. One thing that nearly everybody can agree on is that keeping track of passwords can be a huge headache. However, using strong distinct passwords for each of your accounts is critical to keeping MSU’s IT resources safe – but do you know why?
Over 80% of data breaches occur due to weak, default, or stolen passwords. On top of that, about 60% of people use the same password everywhere they can, leaving many of their accounts vulnerable if a single password is stolen. Doing the right thing and having strong, distinct passwords for every account can seem like a futile task, though, when it comes to trying to create and memorize those passwords.
That’s where Keeper comes in. Keeper lets you keep track of all of your work passwords in a secure vault that you can access with your NetID and password, making password management simple!
