What to do if you suspect that there has been a violation of MSU's computing policies.

When should you report a suspected violation of computing policies?

You should report a suspected violation of computing policies if:
  • You receive a threatening or harassing email.
  • You receive spam that originated at an MSU-Billings email address.
  • You receive promotional information for a private business from an MSU-Billings email address.
  • You feel that a law is being broken through use of MSU-Billings information technology.
  • An MSU-Billings email address has sent you a virus.
  • You suspect your computer has been scanned or otherwise compromised.
  • You have found an MSU-Billings website that has been defaced.
  • Please contact extension 5700 or e-mail helpdesk@msubillings.edu, if you have experienced one of the above incidents or suspect an abuse of MSU-Billings' computing policies.
