Appointment	This is a temporary part-time appointment for Spring semester 2013 (mid-Jan through mid-May).

Salary	$1200 for each recitation section (includes two student teams, a total of 10 students per section). There is no tuition waiver for this assignment.

Overview	Team Advisors (TA’s) are key to providing EGEN 310 students with a positive and rich learning experience. The group of TA’s should represent as many of the engineering and computer science disciplines as possible. Potential EGEN 310 TA’s should be aware of the responsibilities of the position (see the Duties and Responsibilities section below) and should also have all or most of the following qualifications: Have familiarity with a broad range of technologies Have prior engineering design experience, utilizing an established design process Have experience with multi-disciplinary projects Have industrial work experience Have breadth of life experience Be student-focused Exhibit patience, listening skills, negotiation skills, and good communication skills Have sufficient time available to complete the job responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities	EGEN 310 TA’s are responsible for the following activities for each recitation section assignment: Attend EGEN 310 lectures Attend the weekly TA meeting Meet with assigned student teams weekly in recitation sections to provide guidance on their design projects and reinforce class concepts Evaluate team assignments that are due throughout the semester, provide feedback to students, and keep a record of scores Evaluate student’s journals, provide feedback, and keep a record of scores Grade students’ project deliverables Help grade the midterm and final examinations Assist with EGEN 310 lectures on an as-needed basis Other assignments as requested by the course instructor

Additional Requirements	In accordance with MSU policy, hiring will be conditional upon successful completion of a pre-employment background check. This position MAY BE a Union position. Union membership is determined by the amount of work being contracted. Any position working 50% or more is represented by the Associated Faculty of Montana State University (AFMSU). Faculty covered by AFMSU must begin paying either membership dues or representation fees within thirty (30) days of hire. This is a condition of employment. Additional information can be found at AFMSU.org. Any position working less than 50% is not represented by the Union, and is not required to pay dues. If the terms and conditions of the hire contracts change, the representational status of this position could be impacted.
