The Assistant Director for Sports Information, Operations & Digital Marketing reports directly to the Assoc. AD for Marketing & Operations and the Asst. Dir. of Athletics for Media Relations. This position is a full-time 12 month position responsible for coordinating event management for Bobcat Athletics, serving as the primary media contact for track & field/women’s golf, and serving as the coordinator of digital marketing.

Duties and

  1. Oversee website, acting as one of the department liaisons w/Sidearm, Bobcat Sports Properties and other external constituents. This includes maintaining currency of the sites dynamic elements, producing web-related audio and video content, managing video content on, maintain currency & accuracy of rosters, schedules and bio sketches.
  2. Coordinate production of Big Sky TV and other video services including working with campus departments to cultivate and manage interns; video features on web site; video of Tuesday news conference; run out videos for FB, MBB, WBB and post-game news conferences. Additionally creating digital campaigns that will enhance athletic awareness and attendance for all home athletic events.
  3. Serve as primary media contact for the Track & Field program, Golf and other sports as assigned to include managing home events, coordinating the media guide and other publications and managing media relation efforts for those programs.
  4. Oversee all areas of Bobcat social media efforts, including but not limited to Twitter feeds, cultivation of Facebook, Instagram and other community oriented sites. Assist coaches and other department personnel w/social messaging particularly implementing and revising a social media policy. Serves as department “watchdog” for all athletic ancillary social media outlets.
  5. Assist with Coordination of all home Bobcat athletic events. The Operations Manager is responsible for planning & coordinating all aspects of home events including the hiring of the women’s basketball official scorers’ crew, volleyball line judges, and ball boys/girls for women’s and men’s basketball and volleyball.
  6. Assist in producing and distributing to all necessary personnel, production and timing sheets for each athletic event.

  9. Responsible for complying with all Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, Montana State University, NCAA and Big Sky Conference rules and regulations.
  10. Perform all other duties as assigned by the Assoc. Athletic Director of Marketing & Operations, the Asst. Athletic Director for Media Relations and/or the Director of Athletics.

1.   Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
2.   At least one year of full-time/or two years of internship experience in the sports information field, experience in operations and digital marketing.
3.   Demonstrated aptitude in writing, desktop publishing (preferably InDesign & Photoshop), Stat Crew and Automated Scorebook software, web maintenance, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other social media channels.
4.   Demonstrated experience interacting with a diverse constituency using excellent interpersonal communications skills, both written and oral.
5.   Demonstrated knowledge of basic NCAA rules and regulations.
