Founded in 1893 as a Land Grant University, Montana State University (MSU) is composed of eight academic colleges and a graduate school and boasts a friendly, supportive faculty and campus environment. Bozeman is located in the beautiful Gallatin Valley, 90 miles north of Yellowstone National Park.

Overview Position funded with NINDS funds is currently available to study the spatiotemporal dynamics of cortical neural activity during working memory and attention.
Duties and
The project is investigating the spatio-temporal organization of neuronal activity distributed over the entire neocortex during visual working memory and attention. The work combines engineering and technical development with electrophysiological studies in behaving monkeys to investigate the spatiotemporal dynamics of distributed neocortical processing during cognition.
  1. Doctoral degree in Neuroscience or a closely related field.
  2. Extensive experience with electrophysiological methods and statistical analysis of time series data.
  3. Record of peer reviewed publications.
  4. Demonstrated effective communication skills in presenting results to audiences of varying sizes and technical backgrounds.
  1. Experience with electrophysiology in behaving animals.
  2. Familiarity in mechanical engineering, computer aided design and neuroprosthetics.
  3. Experience with Matlab programming and time series analysis.
The Successful
Candidate Will

have demonstrated ability in electrophysiological studies in behaving animals and in publishing research results.
