The Integrated Design Lab (IDL) at Montana State University specializes in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) research, building energy modeling, and daylighting analysis.  Undergraduate and graduate students from various disciplines (ME, MET, ARCH, CS, etc...) are provided opportunities to participate in various energy based research projects. Currently the lab is recruiting engineering students interested in going to graduate school.  The research focus of the IDL is centered around the built environment.  Research projects range from building energy modeling to the evaluation and testing of new HVAC products.
