North American Pulse Improvement Association (NAPIA)

The mission of NAPIA is to provide a forum to share scientific results and research of pulse crops.  The organization has members representing academia, industry and government.  Student interested in attending may apply for funding.

Submission Deadline is October 15th for Travel Grant Applications from students who wish to attend NAPIA in Fargo, North Dakota, $500 USD.

Grant Application requirements:

1. Graduate student must be doing research on a pulse-related project

2. Letter of support from PI for travel approval 

3. A 500 word essay on how this symposium will benefit your goals as a graduate student

5. Email material to Monica Brelsford at Montana State University with 'Student Travel Grant' in subject line by October 15th

Research Lab Exchange (Between USA and Canada highest priority)

Lab research exchanges promote collaboration, exchange of ideas and is the ideal setting for learning new lab techniques.  Students interested in traveling to other research labs can apply for supplemental funding.

No Submission Deadline for Lab Exchange Grant Applications. Funding $1000-$3000 USD

Grant Application requirements:

1. Graduate student must be doing research on a pulse-related project.

2. Letter of support from PI for travel approval

3. A 500 word essay on how this proposed lab exchange will help your research progress, and help with your future career.  

4. Email material to Monica Brelsford at Montana State University with ' Lab Exchange Grant' in subject line.
