Decision-Making Under Uncertainty: Risk Assessment and the Best Available Science

The Daniel Goodman Memorial Symposium will be held March 20-21, 2014 at Montana State University in Bozeman, MT.  The theme of the symposium is Decision-Making under Uncertainty: Risk Assessment and the Best Available Science. The purpose of the symposium is to honor our friend and mentor Dr. Daniel Goodman who died unexpectedly on November 14, 2012.

The symposium will be organized around the broad topics that Dr. Goodman worked on during his prolific career: marine mammals, salmon and freshwater fisheries, marine fisheries, ecosystem modeling, Bayesian statistics, ecological decision-making and risk assessment, Endangered Species Act policy, and hazardous materials and environmental monitoring.

The symposium is being planned as part of the Year of Engaged Leadership at Montana State University.
