| Shirin Ebadi, the first Muslim woman and Iranian to win the Nobel Peace Prize, visited MSU on April 17, 2008. A small woman with a large legacy of supporting human rights and opposing the legal establishment in her native Iran, Ebadi used the analogy of rectifying obvious mistakes to speak about her opinion of the current political situation in the Middle East. | The Humanities Institute co-sponsered an exhibit on the history of voting technologies on display in Wilson Hall. The exhibit contained among other things chads from the 2000 presidential election, historic ballot boxes and a signed speech by President John F. Kennedy. Read more... |
