Graduation 2008
Dear Graduating Seniors,
Congratulations on becoming graduates of the College of Letters and Science.
The main university commencement ceremony, during which your class will be graduated by President Geoffrey Gamble, will take place in the Brick Breeden Fieldhouse from at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 10, 2008. The Registrar's Office will provide you with the details for this university-wide ceremony, or you can visit their website at: http://www.montana.edu/registrar/commencement/.
The College of Letters and Science graduation ceremony will immediately follow the university ceremony in the same location (the Fieldhouse). It begins at approximately 11:30 a.m and concludes about one hour later. At this ceremony you will walk across the stage, receive your diploma cover, and be congratulated by me and your department head. A professional photographer will take your photograph as you receive your diploma, and prints will be available to you at a small cost. (approximately $10 for a 5" by 7".)
Free childcare will be available on May 10th from 7:15 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the ASMSU Daycare Center located at 1295 West Garfield, just north of Hedges North residence hall. For more information, contact the daycare center directly at 994-4370.
If you wish to send invitations to family and friends, graduation announcements for the university ceremony in the fieldhouse are available at the MSU Bookstore for a small cost. Invitations are not required for admittance to either ceremony; all are welcome.
After the main university ceremony ends, you will be asked to assemble for a processional back into the Worthington Arena by department. Please do this as quickly as possible so we may begin and end our graduation ceremony in a timely manner.
I hope that this occasion will be a happy and memorable one for you. Again, congratulations.
Sincerely,
Paula M. Lutz , Dean
