Contact Dr. Janis Bruwelheide for admission and registration information for the Library Media Program whether you are entering as a student or taking a course for recertification.
Details, Transcripts, Payment, & Financial Aid
We have two options for you. Select the approach that
best fits your needs.
1. Non-Degree Graduate Student
Contact Dr. Janis Bruwelheide for program information. This program is geared
to licensed teachers who want to obtain the school library media endorsement
or teachers seeking school library media professional development. Each
summer a special EDCI 580 is available which is open to all teachers.
2. Take the "core" courses needed
for certification in your state
Enter as a non-degree graduate student and take only the courses that you need to meet your state certification requirements in order to earn continuing educaiton credits. In
this situation, you will simply register for the courses that you
need for your state and then process your own certification through
your state agency. Since some states only require 18 cr. of
library media courses, this might be a good approach. Problems
can occur if the students do not fully ascertain their state requirements
and your "certification" will likely not be recognized outside
of your own state. Registration for continuing education courses
is processed through Extended University, but official transcripts are obtained through
the MSU
Registrar's Office.
