Details, Transcripts, Payment, & Financial Aid

We have two options for you.  Select the approach that best fits your needs.

1. Non-Degree Graduate Student
Contact Dr. Janis Bruwelheide for program information. This program is geared to licensed teachers who want to obtain the school library media endorsement or teachers seeking school library media professional development.  Each summer a special EDCI 580 is available which is open to all teachers.

2. Take the "core" courses needed for certification in your state
Take only the courses that you need to meet your state certification requirements in order to earn continuing education credits.  In this situation, you will simply register for the courses that you need for your state and then process your own certification through your state agency.  Since some states only require 18 cr. of library media courses, this might be a good approach.  Problems can occur if the students do not fully ascertain their state requirements and your "certification" will likely not be recognized outside of your own state. Registration for continuing education courses is processed through Extended University, but official transcripts are obtained through the MSU Registrar's Office.

Financial Aid

Financial Aid can be obtained by students enrolled only in Continuing Education courses or only in 'regular' courses or a combination of the
two. However, a minimum of 6 credits per semester is required. Students must complete the FAFSA form for Fall & Spring semester financial aid, or the separate Summer application for the summer semester.

Payment Information
Course tuition for Continuing Education courses must be paid directly to the Extended University.
