WebCT is the Web-based distance learning software used by Montana State University-Bozeman.

MSU-Bozeman has created a great WebCT Student Resource page with tutorials, frequently asked questions, and other resources.

If you are thinking about registering for a School Library Media course, you should have access to the Internet via a phone line or high-speed connection, an email account, and a personal computer that matches the following technical requirements:

Operating System:
Microsoft Windows 98, 2000, XP
Mac OS

WWW Browser:
AOL 7.0 (PC)
AOL 8.0 (PC)
AOL OSX (OSX)
Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 or above
Netscape 6.2.x (PC and Mac)
Netscape 7.0 (PC & OSX)

Besides these hardware and software requirements, you should also have the following technical know-hows:

1. Basic understanding of word processing and email applications

2. Familiarity with spreadsheet and database applications and software

3. Basic knowledge of the World Wide Web, search engines, and experience using different WWW browsers

4. Experience with software downloads and multimedia plug-ins
