Karyn Bonderud

Name:

Karyn Bonderud
Option/Year: Quaternity, 2007
What She's Been Up To:

Working as a para-optometric technician for Advanced Eye Care Associates

Karyn's Thoughts about the Liberal Studies Program: "I loved being in the Liberal Studies program.  I was able to take all the classes I wanted, which were of complete interest to me.  I really enjoyed my capstone course.  I believe that the entire Liberal Studies program helped prepare me for the "real-world" and I can not be happier in the position I am in and with the incredible individuals I work with."

Name: Chris Rennau
Option/Year:
Environmental Studies, 2007
What He's Been Up To: Interned with the Big Sky Carbon Sequestration Partnership in Bozeman and also worked as a research assistant for American Wildlands compiling research on a species of special concern.  Chris is currently working for the National Wildlife Federation on a Global Climate Change project with Alaska's Senator Lisa Murkowski and Governor Sarah Palin.  At the conclusion of his work with the the National Wildlife Federation, Chris plans to attend graduate school to pursue a Master's of Science in Environmental Studies.
Chris's Thoughts about the Liberal Studies Program: "MSU's Liberal Studies program allowed me to create my own personal, interdisciplinary Environmental Studies degree.  I had the freedom to choose the upper level electives that interested me most, and was able to focus on a wide range of core sciences that ultimately led to a well rounded education.  Rather than having a narrow focus, I was able to gain a broad knowledge in biology, ecology, environmental sciences, economics, and history.  I wouldn't have been able to do this in other programs.  The Liberal Studies Program at MSU has set me on a successful career path; I was hired 2 weeks after graduation by the National Wildlife Federation.  This degree has opened a lot of doors for me, and I learned so much in the program.  Looking back, I am happy to have found a program that suited my personal interests the way this one did."

Kevin Pruyn

Kevin's Thoughts about the Liberal Studies Program: "The Liberal Studies Program at MSU allowed a flexible and well-rounded degree that met my needs and passions.  Fusing my study abroad experience with my degree studies, I was able to tailor a program that not only reflected my career interests, but also prepared me for further academic endeavors."
