Human Factors Engineering
Human factors engineering is the application of biological, behavioral and social sciences in the engineering design process to develop systems, products and jobs that are compatible with the physiological, biomechanical, psychological, and sociological capabilities and limitations of humans. This also includes systematic usability testing as part of an iterative design cycle to quantify the design goals for systems, products and jobs that are effective, efficient, safe and satisfying. Application areas include health care, transportation, product design, workplace ergonomics, sports biomechanics, and occupational safety.
