Proposed Syllabus 

 

This course is intended to teach the fundamental basis of system dynamics and control. Students will learn how to model mechanical systems which span multiple physical domains. The state-space formulation will be introduced, and the time/frequency domain response of systems will be analyzed. Basic concepts of single-input-single-output (SISO) continuous-time control will be presented, including Root-Locus analysis and Nyquist diagrams . Students will practical gain experience simulating system responses and evaluating controller performance using MATLAB. A lab component will be included to reinforce course concepts.
