Jack's Poetry
After retirement Jack published a book of poetry: Water Like the Soul Of An Angel. The book was very favorably reviewed in a number of forums including Montana Library Focus, the publication of the state library association. He has done many poetry readings in Montana, Oregon and Wisconsin including the Montana Festival of the Book. Jack has published a number of poems in other venues, including the book Poems Across The Big Sky: An Anthology Of Montana Poets, ed. Lowell Jaeger, Kalispell: Many Voices Press, 2007. Jack's scholarly study titled: "Don Quixote: Sin, Grace and Redemptive Rebellion" is scheduled to be included as a chapter in a book on Cervantes to be published by the University of San Marcos. The publication date has been delayed until next year due to delays in the editing process. He is at work on poems and essays for a second book and has written 160 poems for a third book tentatively titled Poems For Intelligent Children. Work has now progressed on this children's poetry book to the point where Jack is talking with layout specialists about the format of the book. Update on Jack's poetry for adults: Most recently he published his poem "Bewitched" in the 2010 fly fishing issue of the Big Sky Journal.
