Department Overview
Modern Languages & Literatures offers B.A. Degrees in French, Spanish, and German with options in Teaching and Commerce. Teaching and Non-Teaching Minors in French, German, and Spanish are also offered.

The Department, in conjunction with the Department of History & Philosophy, offers both a minor in Japan Studies and a Japan Studies option. For more information, see the Japan Studies page.

We are pleased to announce the new Latin American and Latino Studies Minor, a joint program with the Department of History and Philosophy.

Helena Maria Viramontes, Author and Professor of Creative Writing at Cornell University (Ithaca, NY) will be here to give a talk titled "Borders and Crossroads on the Streets of East L.A." on Thursday, September 27th at 7 p.m., Bozeman Public Library. See this link for more information!
