Patty Simpson was elected to serve on the Executive Committee of the
German Studies Association. Her three-year term begins in 2008. In addition,
she was elected to serve as the division delegate for the Modern Language
Association for Late 18th and Early 19th Century German Literature. Congratulations to Patty Simpson on the release of her new book,
The Erotics of War in German Romanticism, published by Bucknell
University Press (2007), ISBN 978-083875662X. Patty Simpson was recently elected to serve on the steering committee of the Women’s Faculty Caucus. She has also been appointed to the Women’s Studies Minor Committee. Yuka Hara was awarded the Mortor Board Professor of the Month
for January 2006. Carolyn Pinet was the winner of a 2006 Alumni Association/Chamber of Commerce Award
for Excellence. This award signifies exceptional student guidance and
mentorship. Jack Jelinski, Professor Emeritus of Spanish, recently published a book
of poetry:
