Cybersecurity: A Matter of Compliance for DoD Suppliers, and Just Plain Smart for Everyone

With the Wannacry ransomware attack fresh in everyone’s memory, and scary stories and statistics in the news constantly, there’s no need to harp about the odds and potentially devastating effects of a cyber assault on your small business.  The evidence is overwhelming that taking steps to protect your organization and employees must be a priority.  For those in the Department of Defense supply chain, the deadline is also fast approaching to have your cybersecurity program, mandated by recent revisions to the DFARS, in place.   Read more...

The State of Montana has recently released their proposed transportation plan update at http://www.mdt.mt.gov/tranplan/. The plan identifies what is leaving the state, to which locations, and via which avenues of transportation. Through previous public input, the state identified trucking transportation as a concern, and interest in the possible establishment of intermodal facilities in the state.  Key recommendations based on the initial public comment include the following: maintaining road pavement condition, keeping the public informed, including wildlife crossings and barriers, maintaining roadside vegetation, and improving transportation safety. Manufacturers (and anyone) may add your voice by using the "Comment Here" button on the website.

  • SME Lean Bronze: 10-week training course culminating in an online exam to earn a Lean Bronze certificate.  Courses begin on Sep. 27 in Bozeman and Sep. 28 in Helena.
  • Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP): Two-day food safety training. Contact MMEC to be placed on a list for the next available course. 
  • Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI): 3-day training leading to required food safety certification by FDA (certification included).  Contact MMEC to be placed on a list for the next available course.
