Tuition and Fees

Tuition Rates*:
Per credit hour: $285
Administration fee per course: $50

*Rates are for campus and distance courses.

Tuition is assessed on a per credit hour basis. Rates are subject to change. Some courses may require additional lab fees. Textbooks are not included in the tuition rates. Textbooks may be purchased or ordered through the MSU Bookstore (1-800-435-1286) or may be available from other sources. Extended University will assess a $30 registration fee and $9.75 computer fee per student.

Tuition Estimate illustrates a sample semester-by-semester credit hour plan for the Master of Science in Science Education degree program. Note: Students may take up to six years to complete the degree and may take a semester off when necessary.

Additional one-time fees include:

  • $15 "CAT" Card fee (assessed upon admissions to the MSSE Program)
  • $50 Graduate Orientation (assessed upon admissions to the MSSE Program)
  • $50 Program of Study fee (assessed upon submission to Division of Graduate Education)
  • $30 Advanced Degree Application (assessed upon MSSE Graduation)

Financial Assistance

  • Federal Financial Aid
    To qualify for financial aid you must (a) have admissions into a program of study and (b) register for a minimum of 6 credits per semester for campus and/or distance classes.

    Once you are enrolled in MSSE, you qualify for student loan deferment when you take a minimum of 3 credits.

Student Health Insurance

If you are registered for four or more credits in a semester, you may be billed for the MSU Student Health Insurance plan. If you would like to waive the health insurance fees you can do so in My Info.
