The mission of the National Council for International Visitors (NCIV), a membership network of individuals and community organizations in the United States, is to bridge cultures and build mutually beneficial relationships through person to person international exchanges. The International Visitor Leadership Program brings foreign leaders to the United States to meet directly with their American counterparts. These current and emerging leaders from overseas travel to communities throughout the U.S. for face-to-face meetings with their professional colleagues. The exchange enables the foreign leaders to obtain firsthand knowledge about the United States, its people, policies, and culture. Lasting business, cultural, and educational contacts with prominent professionals overseas often develop. World Chambers of Commerce (http://www.worldchambers.com) This site offers a network of worldwide Chambers of Commerce, providing a wealth of information for the potential trader. Foreign Trade Online (http://www.foreign-trade.com) Foreign Trade Online includes a number of resource items such as, directories, currency converters, and shipping information. Journal of Commerce (http://www.joc.com) Another publication of the Economist Group, the Journal of Commerce is one of the leading newspapers on trade and transportation news. It features reports on finance, global trade, imports, exports, transportation, foreign investments and markets, logistics, energy, insurance and more. Access to the current day's edition is free. U.S. Government Export Portal (http://www.export.gov) The Department of Commerce's export web portal brings all the Department of Commerce's export related information under one easy to use website. It is intended for companies wishing to export or expand into foreign markets as well as for those interested to acquire products and services from other countries. Export Leads (http://www.export-leads.com) Export-Leads is a monthly international newspaper featuring nearly 10,000 export sales opportunities a year. Most of these export sales leads are generated by direct contact from importers around the world, and through questionnaires sent to major active importing firms, requesting details of their current import requirements. U.S. Customs Service (http://www.customs.ustreas.gov) U.S. Customs enforces the laws of the United States, safeguards the revenue, and fosters lawful international trade and travel. Trade Compliance Center (http://www.tcc.mac.doc.gov) The Trade Compliance Center helps American exporters overcome foreign trade barriers and works to ensure that foreign countries comply with their commitments to the United States. Resources include exporter's guides, quick, concise explanations of individual trade agreements. Aimed especially at small to medium-sized exporters, the guides will tell you what each agreement does without having to read through the detailed, technical language of the full text. Statistical releases, import/export guides, country reports, foreign policy statements, trade opportunity listings, trade fair listings are only some of the information available. Asia Guide (http://www.asiaguide.com) Asia Guide concentrates its searches in the Asia Pacific region, enabling businesses to locate companies within this region quickly and efficiently. Middle East Saudi Arabia: The Country in Brief (http://www.saudia-online.com/saudi_arabia.htm) This site contains information about Saudi Arabia's geography, history, economy, government, and the business sector. The Middle East and North Africa Business (http://www.menabusiness.com) MenaBusiness provides a wealth of practical information for companies and individuals considering doing business in the MENA (Middle East and North Africa) region.
