Graduate Student Tuition

March 31, 2008

Beginning with the Fall 2008 semester, we will be paying your tuition (in- and out-of-state).  This does not cover the fees associated with the credits you take each semester.  For example, if you are taking 6 credits we will pay $1367.70 for tuition and you will be responsible for the $193.70 in fees.  There is a schedule for tuition and fees with the breakdown by number of credits on the MSU website.  We will pay a maximum of 31 credits for MS students and 45 credits for PhD students during the course of your program.  Stipends will remain the same with the exception of those students working on grants that disallow tuition payments.  These students will receive an additional amount in their stipend equal to the tuition payment for the credits they are taking each semester.  If you are graduating this summer, we will pay the tuition for your summer credits.  Those of you using this final option please let me know your plans in May so I can process the proper forms.  We will pay out-of-state tuition for your first year here.  You are expected to establish residency within a year of arrival or be responsible for subsequent non-resident tuition payments.  If you have any questions ask Lynn.
