Experience Montana!
The Montana State University by-line is Mountains and Minds and we would like to offer master class participants the opportunity to experience our environment. Bozeman is situated in the heart of numerous outdoor opportunities. During your stay in Bozeman, take advantage of the availability of blue-ribbon fly-fishing, hiking, mountain biking and white-water rafting. Thirty miles west of Bozeman, the Jefferson, Madison, and Gallatin rivers join to form the Headwaters of the Missouri River. It was near here that Lewis and Clark met with Sacajawea's tribe, the Shoshone, and through her assistance were able to obtain horses for the next leg of the Voyage of Discovery. Participants will enjoy an afternoon exploring and walking the interpretive trail alongside the Headwaters of the Missouri, and stand where these intrepid explorers stood.

Prior to the picnic at Bridger Bowl, participants will have time to hike the trails of Bridger Bowl ski area. A hike to the Bridger Ridge at 8,700 ft. will afford outstanding views to the west of the Gallatin Valley which is rimmed by the Tobacco Root, Madison, and Gallatin ranges and to the east, the Shields Valley, Crazy Mountains, and the Little Belt ranges. Other less strenuous hikes through the wilflower-filled slopes offer the hiker many opportunities to enjoy the mountain scenery, taste wild huckleberries, watch bald eagles soar and hummingbirds flit from flower to flower.
