The Montanans

The Montanans is the most select vocal chamber ensemble in the Department of Music. Sixteen singers are selected by audition at the beginning of each Fall semester. The Montanans perform repertoire representing every stylistic period from the Renaissance to the 21st Century, including vocal jazz. In addition to two formal concerts each semester, the Montanans entertain at the annual Madrigal Dinner and regularly represent the Department of Music at various University and community events.
Members of the Montanans from the core of University Chorale. Many members are pursuing degrees in choral music education and vocal performance and participation in both vocal ensembles enhances their education and training. The group regularly offers clinics and concerts in Montana schools to support the important role of music ensembles in the public school curriculum.
