University Band

The University Band is the large concert band open to all MSU students with some wind instrumental training. The University band performs a variety of wind band literature geared toward continuing musicians who desire a quality band experience. This ensemble is open to all interested students, staff, faculty, and community members; no audition is required. The great diversity of this ensemble facilitates those who want to continue to play an instrument or even learn a secondary instrument. The University Band performs both Fall and Spring semesters. Continuous enrollment is not required.

 

 

 

MSU Wind Ensemble

The Montana State University Wind Ensemble maintains an active performance schedule on campus and in the community. Performing the most out-standing traditional and contemporary wind band repertoire, selections range from the largest symphonic works to chamber pieces. The Montana State University Wind Ensemble has represented the Department of Music at national and state professional conferences. The wind ensemble is the select wind group in the department and does require audition. Auditions take place the first week of classes.
