Professor of Music, earned a Bachelor of Music at North Texas State University, a Master of Arts at Ball State University, and a Ph.D. in Music Education at Case Western Reserve University. He has teaching experience at pre-school through graduate levels. Dr. Bartholomew's Ph.D. dissertation was named the 1985 Outstanding Dissertation in Music Education by the Council for Research in Music Education. He has published research dealing with musical thought and perception. He is co-author (with Dr. Peggy Bennett) of the two textbooks, SongWorks 1: Singing in the Education of Children, and SongWorks 2: Singing From Sound to Symbol, both published by Wadsworth. He has also developed and published instructional materials for the general music classroom and has conducted workshops across the United States and Canada. Dr. Bartholomew's knowledge of music theory, composition, performance, and psychology provides a broad basis for the development of music educators who are concerned with the problems of music learning and teaching.
