ACDA

The MSU-Bozeman chapter of ACDA is an affiliate of the American Choral Directors Association and is organized specifically for music majors pursuing careers as choral directors. This organization meets to discuss current issues in choral music education.  

NAfME Collegiate 

The Collegiate National Association for Music Education is an affiliate of the National Association for Music Education, organized specifically for music majors pursuing music education careers. NAfME members attend two annual music education conferences and meet regularly to discuss issues current to the profession of music teaching. All students in the Department of Music are encouraged to become members of this organization.  

Kappa Kappa Psi

The second oldest chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi, a national honorary band fraternity, is found at MSU-Bozeman. Its primary function is to serve the university band program. 

Gallatin Trumpet Guild

Associated with the MSU Trumpet Studio, the Gallatin Trumpet Guild’s purpose is to provide interested trumpeters an opportunity to meet and network with professional educators and performers on trumpet. The club is a space for members to connect with professionals in the field, learn repertoire with peers, and learn industry-specific concepts. The Guild was founded in the Fall of 2016 by MSU Bachelor of Education and Trumpet Major, Andrew Kilpatrick. Since then, the Guild has had the opportunity to support its members and the surrounding community by providing special guest presentations and events, along with providing scholarships to incoming music majors in the trumpet area at MSU. Since 2016, the GTG has supported guest artist visits from professionals in the field of music including, Canadian Brass, Wayne Bergeron, Tine Thing Helseth, Seraph Brass Quintet, Jon Lewis, Susan Slaughter, Ashley Hall to name a few! Music in Montana

The mission of Music in Montana is to help use the resources of Montana State University to serve students involved in music in Montana's middle schools and high schools.  As part of their work, each year Music in Montana sponsors the Montana State Youth Chorale and the Montana SSAA or TTBB Vocal Festival. 

Piano Club

The Piano Club at MSU was officially created as a Montana State University club in January of 2020. The purpose of the club is “All things piano at Montana State University, explore; listen: perform; network… This organization participates in piano related events sponsored by the Montana State University School of Music such as student recitals, master classes by guest artists, community outreach and fundraising events to augment social and professional activities for the MSU Piano Club. Student Advisory Council (SAC)

The student advisory council meets with the director monthly, and brings student feedback and suggestions.  Representatives from each of the three degree option are elected to this council.
