Montana State overcame a five minute second-half scoreless spell
and a two-to-one Montana advantage from the free throw line to
earn a 70-67 win over the Grizzlies in Bozeman on Saturday.
The Bobcats took control of the second half early and dominated
for nearly 15 minutes. A three-pointer by Pete Conway gave MSU a
66-51 lead with 5:26 to play.
"I thought we were just about to the point where the game was
over," said MSU coach Mick Durham. "Some crazy things started
happening -- the ball that bounced on top of the backboard and
went back to them for a dunk, the turnovers, that long possession
where they got the missed free throws. But our kids played their
hearts out. This is a huge win."
