To celebrate National Food Day, food system activist Mark Winne will present "America's Food System: Cause for Concern, Time for Action" at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 24, in the Procrastinator Theater.

Winne is the author of Closing the Food Gap and Food Rebels, Guerrilla Gardeners and Smart Cookin' Mamas: Fighting Back in the Age of Industrial Agriculture.

Books may be purchased at the event, and Winne will be available to sign them.

Additional Food Day activities will be held from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. in SUB Ballroom A.

The event is sponsored by the Department of Health and Human Development, MSU Friends of Local Foods, the Sustainable Food & Bioenergy Systems degree program and the Montana Student Dietetic Association.
