The presentation will address travel trends that affect industries and how adventure travel can have a positive impact on vacation destinations. Stowell also will discuss eco-tourism and sustainability as they relate to adventure travel.
Throughout the week, Stowell also will be visiting business classes at MSU as the fall Entrepreneur-In-Residence at the College of Business.
Stowell earned a bachelor's degree in biology from Seattle Pacific University and is certified as a fisheries observer by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. He has worked in environmental chemistry and biology with the U.S. National Marine Fisheries Service and spent eight years with an environmental testing firm, working on soil, groundwater and air cleanup projects around the Pacific Rim.
Stowell co-founded www.Altrec.com, an adventure travel gear retailer. For six years, he directed the company's business development, marketing and non-profit relations work.
