Gaylon Ferguson will deliver the 2012 Montana State University Martin Luther King, Jr. Lecture, "Fearless Compassion: MLK's Vision of Beloved Community," Wednesday, Jan. 18, at 7:30 p.m. in SUB Ballroom A. The event is free and open to the public.

Ferguson is a senior teacher in the Shambhala Buddhist tradition and the author of "Natural Wakefulness-Discovering the Wisdom We are Born With." He also is an associate professor of interdisciplinary studies at Naropa University in Boulder, Colo.

Ferguson's lecture will be followed by a book signing and meditation instruction. The event is sponsored by the Office of Student Activities with special assistance from Graciela Marin.
