Ehlert's program will focus on seven outstanding family businesses in Montana whose distinguished practices have allowed them to be successful in challenging times. Each company's story includes lessons that all companies can employ to be successful, according to Ehlert.
Established in 1994 as an outreach program through MSU's College of Business, the Family Business Program offers education and information to Montana businesses that are owned and managed by families. The program allows businesses to share ideas and concerns that are not only common to most family-owned businesses, but which apply to all businesses. The program also provides recognition to pioneering and successful family businesses through the Montana Family Business of the Year Awards.
The College of Business introduced the Family Business Program On the Road in 2007 in conjunction with the Business Days at the Capitol. Additional support is from Stockman Bank.
For the first time, this year the On the Road series will visit 11 cities across the state. In addition to Helena, events will be held in Lewistown, Billings, Miles City, Glasgow, Havre, Great Falls, Kalispell, Missoula, Butte and Bozeman. More information on these events will be available at a later date.
