Montana State University is seeking input on its strategic plan from students, faculty, staff, alumni and community members during a charrette, or information and feedback event, from noon to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 8, in SUB Ballroom B.

Interested participants should feel free to drop in anytime during the event to comment on MSU's strategic plan. Members of the Strategic Planning Committee will be there specifically to answer questions, discuss and record ideas.

For the last three semesters, the 40-member Strategic Planning Committee has worked on a new strategic plan for MSU. Through its work, the group has created a vision statement and a list of university values. The group has also identified five goals: 1) Success, 2) Access, 3) Engagement, 4) Stewardship, and 5) the Integration of the three components of the land-grand mission, teaching, research and service.

For a more specifics of the proposed goals under each area please go to http://www.montana.edu/planningcouncil/spc/draftstratplan.html.

The group has worked on a new Mission Statement that was approved by the Board of Regents last semester, as well as the CORE Themes that will guide the accreditation of MSU: http://www.montana.edu/planningcouncil/mission_corethemes.html.

The next step in the strategic planning process is to gather input about these goal areas from members of the university community,

Those unable to attend the charrette on Feb. 8 can share their feedback with a member of the committee before that date. SPC membership list is available online at: http://www.montana.edu/opa/coms/councils/pcouncil/spc/spcmembers.html.
