Hilary Parkinson, plant identification diagnostician in the Schutter Diagnostic lab, will host the booth on June 30. She will assist with weed and plant identification and answer questions pertaining to weed issues. The specialist will also provide free MSU Extension factsheets and MontGuides on weed identification and control.
"People are encouraged to bring plant samples to the booth for diagnosis or identification," said Toby Day, Extension horticulturist and Master Gardener coordinator. "If you want to know what plant is invading your garden, pasture or cropland, bring a sample of it to the Gallatin Valley Farmers Market this Saturday," Day said.
The Gallatin County Farmers' Market runs from 9 a.m. through noon on Saturdays through Sept. 8. There is no market on July 21.
