A water safety instructor certification course will be offered at Montana State University in February.

Participants will learn how to teach children and adults to swim and how to give water safety presentations to kids and their parents. The program is an American Red Cross certification that is recognized nationwide.

Participants must attend all four classes to receive certification. Class dates are Friday, Feb. 8, from 5-9 p.m.; Saturday, Feb. 9, from 8 a.m.- 7p.m; Friday, Feb. 15, from 5-9 p.m.; and Saturday, Feb. 16, from 8 a.m.- 7p.m.

Course participants do not need to be members of the MSU fitness center or enrolled as MSU students.

The cost is $275. To register, visit 120 Hosaeus Fitness Center or call 994-5000. Registration is due by Feb. 4. Questions may be directed to Abbey Keene at abbey.keene@montana.edu.
