The Montana State University Chorale and the Montanans vocal groups will perform a wide-ranging program of choral music at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, March 3, at Hope Lutheran Church.
The Chorale will perform Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's "Venite populi" for double chorus and his "Ave verum corpus" for chorus and orchestra. MSU cello professor Julia Cory will perform with the orchestra. MSU piano professor Julie Gosswiller will accompany the Chorale in a setting by American composer Carlyle Sharp of Walt Whitman's poem, "The Ship Starting," for chorus and piano. Other composers on the program include Eric Whitacre, Z. Randall Stroope and Vijay Singh.
Gosswiller will also accompany the Montanans chorale group with its performance of selections from Johannes Brahms's "Zigeunerlieder."
Tickets, which are available at the door, are $10 general admission, $5 for students and seniors.
