BOZEMAN -- The Montana Manufacturing Extension Center (MMEC) will offer a three-day workshop on understanding quality systems and how to perform internal quality audits of those systems from May 7 through 9 in Bozeman.

Participants will gain a clear understanding of how to succeed with a formal quality audit by an outside registrar, receive a copy of the ISO 9001:2008 standard, and lunches. Practice auditing processes as part of the course will take place at Lattice Materials, LLC, a  precision optics manufacturer.  Adherence to international standards of quality is a means by which the marketplace judges suppliers and partners.

The workshop will run from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each of the three days. The fee is $895 per person.  For more details, contact Mark Shyne at (406) 994-3812 or go to https://www.etouches.com/61323. Participants can also register at that site.

MMEC is a statewide outreach program at Montana State University and a nationwide NIST MEP Affiliate. In addition to the training, MMEC provides quality system gap assessments and quality systems implementation assistance and other manufacturing services through field offices across the state.
